The defendant has a legal duty to act as a reasonable, prudent person under the circumstances and to take precautions against unreasonable risk of injury to others.

The defendant owes this duty of care to all foreseeable victims, defined as those persons inside the zone of danger at the time of the defendant’s negligence.
